My name is Pranakrsnananda.
However you may call me Dada Prana.
I attended training sessions in India in 1971 to become a full time, qualified meditation teacher. I have been teaching mantra meditation in 31 countries for the last 40 years. I am originally from Chicago, USA. I now live in New York City. I have also completed a Graduate Diploma in Gestalt psychotherapy in Australia.
I lead a guided meditation for several sessions until you feel comfortable to do it on your own without guidance. We sometimes chant a mantra together with music to prepare us for meditation.
The topics of the class include breathing, creating psychic privacy or space and focusing the mind. I teach you how to use the sound, idea and relational value of the mantra to make your meditation deeper and more intimate. I also teach you how to take care of the thoughts which naturally arise as a result of good meditation.
Meditation is an internal practice that leads to the feeling that everyone and everything is part of you and you are part of everything. It is inclusive and leads to unconditional love. The techniques of meditation are standard.
Meditation guides each individual along his or her own path and feeds a growing awareness of an underlying happiness as difficulties and emotions that occupy the mind are resolved. Learning meditation is not difficult. It involves learning certain skills to make it successful, such as withdrawing the mind from the external environment and the physical body, focusing the self in a point, which is then associated with the Divine, my own, true Self.
You can also arrange private consultation sessions with me by appointment.
What people say about Dada Prana's workshops:
“ If they are looking to experience a serious meditation in a circle of people where judgment feels non-existant please come. Especially if like myself being directed properly helps incredibly. In my personal opinion and feeling Dadaprana is such a great candidate for leading and teaching such a group. This really is about meditation, and connection with self and all. "

“ I've been meditating with Dada for 6 months now and we've become quite good friends. Prior to the class, I had never meditated before (and was quite skeptical of it) and I couldn't have picked a better place to start. Stick with the practice he teaches you and, like me, you'll slowly see life becoming more lively, stress free and enjoyable. Joining the group was honestly one of the best decisions I have ever made. “ For those looking to learn meditation for the purpose of personal growth. "

“ Dada has a unique way of speaking each person's truth and mirroring it perhaps without them realizing it. I get out exactly what I need to because he truly understands how to relate to each person. Why should others join this group? It has the potential to be quite healing. "

“ For anyone who has ever been even vaguely attracted to meditation or who says"that is something I should do". Accessible for the first-time meditation or for the hundred thousandth meditation. Do something good for yourself- learn to meditate. This is the place to dive in. "
